Burgundy Wine Tasting in partnership with Quintessentially Wine
In the prestigious setting of New Bond Street lies the Opera Gallery with its collection of high-end contemporary and modern painting and sculpture. On 24th June, Mackintoshs was privileged to have the opportunity to work in this fantastic venue as we got together with our favourite grape aficionados, Quintessentially Wine, to match some delicious canapés to a selection of Burgundy wines.
Presented by the acclaimed wine writer Matthew Jukes, author of the bestselling book “The Wine List 2007”, wine writer for the Daily Mail and a past winner of the International Wine & Spirit Communicator of the Year Award. Each bottle was carefully matched with a canapé perfectly suited to bring out the best in the wine. With a 2004 Chassagne Montrachet, 1er Cru Morgeot perfectly matched to delicate pea, mint and truffle risotto cakes and a 2001 Gevrey-Chambertin, 1er Cru Combottes paired with Moroccan spiced lamb, aubergine caviar & apricot marmalade, guests were treated to a sensational extravaganza of the palate.
