Welcome to Mackintosh's June Newsletter
Doesn’t time fly when you’re rushed off your feet?! Already halfway through the year and the great January office clearout has not even started yet. Isn’t it funny how ‘next weekend’ never actually arrives? Still, with June comes the comforting echo of Maria Sharapova resonating throughout South West London and a bowl of strawberries and cream on Murray Mound.
Yes, it’s Wimbledon time and, with no British interest in the football this summer, tennis is set to take centre stage (or centre court if you will). Here at Mackintosh’s work is taking centre stage as June is turning out to be the busiest month of the year so far. We have had the pleasure of working in many of our favourite venues over the past few weeks, including the Getty Image Gallery, The Worx and the Prince of Wales Theatre, organising events ranging from wine tastings to elegant British summer parties. Long may it continue!
Strawberries & Cream
If you can’t get tickets to see Andy battle his way through Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer to the Wimbledon final, then enjoy sitting at home with a bowl full of English strawberries and Jersey cream and watch the excitement unfold on the good old BBC with our favourite Sue Barker.
PRP wine tasting
Park Royal Partnership is an urban regeneration partnership, committed to the promotion and economic development of Park Royal, Europe's largest industrial area, and one of London's most strategic business locations. As members of PRP, Mackintosh’s were delighted to have the opportunity to demonstrate their skills by catering at a wine tasting evening at the Advait Centre earlier in the month.
Delfont Mackintosh Brochure Launch
With theatre ticket sales as high as ever before, Delfont Mackintosh are taking this opportunity to push for new business in the corporate market. Last Thursday saw the launch of their new brochure highlighting all of the services they offer, including the hire of the Prince Of Wales Theatre (see our venues page).
British Summer BBQ
In the vibrant, cosmopolitan setting of Parsons Green, Mackintosh’s had the pleasure of designing a summer party at The Worx on Saturday 7th June. With the weather holding fair all was set for a BBQ extravaganza featuring boned leg of lamb, port shallots and confit garlic with fried rosemary, niçoise of grilled sea bream and a selection of salads and desserts that filled the buffet to bursting.
The Advait Centre
The new Advait Sattavis Gam Centre in Wembley is a stylish new venue for social and cultural events and Mackintosh’s are delighted to have been invited onto their preferred caterers list. It has been recognised and ‘highly regarded’ by Open House 2007 as one of London’s ‘great buildings’ due to its contemporary architecture and the facilities it provides. The distinctively designed facility is situated a short walk away from the new Wembley Stadium with excellent road, rail and public transport facilities, and can cater for conferences, weddings, banquets, presentations, exhibitions, live performances and special events.
Mackintosh’s help Getty with new sponsor celebration
We were delighted to help the Getty Images Gallery celebrate their new sponsor Canon last week with a champagne and canapé reception on Eastcastle Street. Serving up some delicious bites including vodka & beetroot cured salmon gravelax on dill blinis and pumpkin, butternut and sage risotto cakes, Mackintosh’s impressed both guests and the press who had come along to cover the event. Canon will be sponsoring a number of major photography exhibitions at the gallery and we hope to be seeing many of them in the future.
Book a party with us at one of our venues before October 1st 2008 and receive 6 bottles of Champagne Palmer Rosé.
